Week 3, Day 2

This morning's project was making a board game. Each girl got a board, and then an all-access pass to the 2 boxes of recycled materials, paper, ribbon and yarn, plasticine, markers, glue, beads, and stickers. While they were hard at work, I asked the girls to think about the name of their game, what someone would do on their turn and how many people could play. When they finish next time, we will write up the instructions. They are really thriving with the challenge of inventing something on their own.

Even with the heat and humidity, we donned our socks and running shoes and headed outside for a game of soccer. Today, there were 6 girls. Two of them came ready in their soccer uniforms! Each child got to be the goalie, and the game lasted 15-20 minutes. I wish I had taken some pictures, but I was so busy encouraging them from the sidelines. As soon as the last goal was scored, the girls immediately changed into swimwear to go in the water.
